Junior Competitor get a Helping Hand
We are happy to announce that Sid Paton was the recipient of a 2024-25 Competitors Grant from the Department of Sport and Recreation Victoria.
The grant is provided to support Junior Pennant Players by providing financial support towards travel and accomodation for attenting Tournaments as part of the TTV State Circuit.
Attending various State Tournaments has allowed Sid to gain valuable experience. The proof of his dedication and improvement is already evident with his rise within our local Pennant Competition.
Congratulations Sid.
PS: We must also thank his parents for their efforts in supporting Sid (a lot of travel and expenses). Thanks also go to his little brother Arty (silent coach!) in supporting Sid.
Juniors and C Grade Pennant
2025 Presentations at All Seasons
Presentations were made on Jan 31st 2026 at the All Seasons Resort McIvor Hwy Strathdale.
It started with the AGM at 12noon (whilst lunch was being served) and 20 minutes later we viewed the screening of our in-house video (thanks to Hebron Video Bendigo) and a special screening of a little friend, which brought much lafter to those present.
The 2025 Winter Pennant awards were then followed by the 2025 Bendigo Club Championship awards.
The shields presented for the Club Championships, were:
Juniors Shield (Donated by Bill Freeman) to Sid Paton Bill is one of the oldest players and has promtoted the sport over many year.
C Grade Shield (in honor of Carol Wearne) to Mark Norman Carol and her family have a very long history with the club, back to the days prior to our Stadium being built.
B Grade Shield (in honor of Marice Bingham) to Eli Rodriquez Maurice (Maurie) was instrumental in helping to raise funds for the building of our stadium, over 42 years ago.
The new Gary Warnest Cup was presented to Nate Toohill (Open Winner) by Gary himself. (Nate came through our Junior Coaching). Gary has a long association with the Club and been a dedicated supporter of the Club and Table Tennis, State wide, Nationally & Internationally
We thank Megan Rogers for presenting the "Best Club Person" award, in honor of her father Jeff Rogers (which was clearly an emotional moment for Megan). Megan presented the award to Deb Wright for her dedication and hard work over many years as the Juniors Program Coach. It is interesting to note that 4-5 of her Juniors had progressed over recent years by taking out most of the of the awards of the day.
Thanks to Wright's Honey Farm for the Jars of Honey donated to each of the Winners in the Club Championships.
The 2025 TTV Awards were held on Thu 11th December 2025 to recognise the efforts Individuals and Organisation within the Victorian Table Tennis family.
The Bendigo & District Table Tennis Association was the winner of the "St Kilda Cricket Club Table Tennis Club - Affiliate of the Year" award. The St. Kilda club is the oldest Table Tennis Club in Victoria and through this award supports and recognises the efforts of TTV Affiliates.
Table Tennis Movie ...
On 22 January 2026 the movie 'Marty Supreme' will be released in cinemas in Australia.
This movie is set in the 1950s and follows the character of Marty Mauser as he pursues his dream of becoming a champion table-tennis player. The movie features Hollywood stars Timothee Chalamet and Gwenyth Paltrow.
Note: This movie may not be Family Friendly - so Parental Guidence is a must.
We are pleased to announce that Sid Paton, Arty Paton & Nate Toohill are the recipients of Competitors Grants from the Department of Sport and Recreation Victoria in 2026.

Passing of Alan Danton
It is with deep sadness that I pass on the sad news of the passing of Alan Danton, 12 June 26 aged 90 yrs, a long-term member of Bendigo Table Tennis.
In Alan's younger years he had been the European Junior Champion.
Seen here as the 2003 A Grade Doubles Champion. He is remembered as one of the very early users of those damn long pimples.

If you requires Bat & balls - $15 p/table p/hour.
You may attend any of the session listed above (when Stadium is Open).

Eaglehawk Family Day - Sunday 22 March 2026
Our Table Tennis exhibit at the Eaglehawk Family Day this year was an outstanding success.
Thanks to the hard work from Gary Warnest, Jock McNeill, Michael Bissett and Gary Fitzgerald in setting up the Marquee, assisting the young (and some older) participants on the day and packing up the Marquee, Table Tennis Table and Robot etc.
We had approx 80 (mostly young) participants enjoyed having fun against the Robot, on a beautiful Autumn's day.
30 Years of Service Recognised
On Saturday 14th March 2026, Eddy Williams former Community Representative of the Committee of Management was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation recognising his 30+ years as a Member of the COM.
Eddy's commitment to his role and the community has been much appreciated by both the Bendigo & District Table Tennis Assoc and the Bendigo Eaglehawk Badminton Association.
This presentation was given in the presence of family members and representatives from both Table Tennis and Badminton at a small morning tea at Eddy's place of residence (and those home made scones were a hit).
We wish Eddy and his Family well.
Table Maintenance
Thanks to:
Mauire Bingham & Max, Brian Kent, Gary Fitzgerald, Gary Warnest, David McRae, Graham & Chase Leathbridge, Alister Carr, Dylon Toohill, Nate Toohill for their assistance on Wed/Thu 14th/15th January in replacing 36 Tables with new wheels and foot stops.
That's a total of 144 wheels and 72 foot stops.

It was nice to see family members and supporters of Teams and Players also enjoying the Table Tennis.

Come and Try for New Arrivals in Australia
This program was funded through the Victorian Table Tennis Association to provide an opportunity for several communites that are new to the Region to experience local sport.
The first Group were from the Karen Community on Saturday 15th March 2025.
The second Group were from the Indian Community on Saturday 22nd March 2025.
The third Group were from the Afghan (Hazara) Community on Saturday 5th April 2025.
We also wish to thank MyExpression P/L for their continued support in supplying two childrens mini tables.
